95. Visit Sarah and Adam wherever they may be living
I met my friends Sarah and Adam in the summer of 2003. I was going to school at Ball State in Indiana and had landed an internship in Phoenix for the summer. Conveniently enough, my boyfriend was from Phoenix and had some high school friends that needed a roommate for the summer. I moved in with Sarah and two other fun girls for the craziest and drunkest summer I’ve had thus far. Three weeks after the boyfriend and I went back to Indiana, he dumped me. He mentioned something about needing to be “free” his senior year of college. I mentioned something about how he was cheating on me with a girl who would put out. But I digress.
Sarah’s boyfriend and now husband is Adam. When I moved back to Phoenix in 2004, we ran around town together going on adventures and playing video games. Sarah was always so mad at us. Mostly because she had to work when the two of us were caravaning around, but also because we were bad influences on each other.
“Amy, one beer on your lunch break isn’t going to kill you.”
“Adam, one missed dentist appointment because we’re in the middle of playing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles isn’t going to kill you.”
After college, they moved to Maryland and have just recently moved to San Diego. California is a short six hour drive compared to a coast-to-coast commute. Plus, did you know that weed is legally prescribed in California? I’m just sayin’.
61. Visit the China town district in downtown Phoenix
This one is pretty short and sweet. Phoenix doesn’t HAVE a Chinatown district. Oops! Maybe one of my goals should have been “don’t lie on your list.” Instead, while in Chicago last month, I stopped by their Chinatown. I think that counts, right?
And on one last note, I really appreciate all the emails and comments I received yesterday. I was having a rotten day and everyone really helped to cheer me up! It’s great to know that I can talk about peeing my pants AND having a sad day in the same forum. I’ll keep you posted as the job search continues.
